50th Anniversary Memory Book

I wanted to share with you today the Memory Book we used for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary.

As is often the case for a Golden Anniversary celebration, the guests of honor may request there by no gifts. I know for our parents celebration my parents choose to put the following sentence on the invitations: "No gifts please. Your presence will be the best present."

We all honored our parents wishes, but we still were able to provide them a Memory Book gift they will cherish for years to come. The best part of this gift is that it is a compilation of heartfelt memories from each invited person to the celebration. This was also wonderful because not all persons were able to attend the party, but they were able to supply a memory and be included in the Memory Book.

Gathering Memories for the Memory Book

Each person on the guest list received in a separate mailing a request to share their favorite memory of the guests of honor, our parents. The request card stated "Please write your favorite memory of Cathie and Ron, and include photos if you would like. These memories will be arranged in a special memory book for our parents. "

The Gibson Album We Used for the Memory Book

Here is a photo of the Gibson Photo Album we used to create our parents memory book. Since our celebration, I discovered another style memory book that is a bit larger and is shown and described in this post.

50th Anniversary Memory Book

The colors are perfect in the gold and off white. The bow is a nice satin and firmly attached to the album. The "50 years together" shown in the photo is removable in case you wanted to place a photo of the celebrating couple.

The quality of this album is very good. As mentioned above, the cover design is secure and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the album is expandable. Each set of inserts includes it's own expanding post. The album holds pictures up to 5x7 in size. But as I mentioned before, we used this memory book for both photos and memory cards and found the 5"x7" pages delightful for reading the written memories. I didn't realize it at the time of our celebration, but there is a matching guest book and pen set available that could be used also at your 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration.

Additional Uses for the Memory Book

We found that by expanding the Memory Book my parents were able to include copies of their verbal message to everyone as well the speech their granddaughters delivered could be included in the book.

A Wonderful Gift, One That Provides Lasting Memories

The Memory Book turned out being an unexpected meaningful gift to my parents that everyone who participated were able to show my parents their love and admiration for their commitment to one another on their 50th Wedding celebration.
